Two Cigars For 10 Years Of Cavalier Genève
Swiss cigarmaker Cavalier Genève is celebrating 10 years in the industry with two commemorative cigars called Project 10th Anniversary. Both are Toros measuring 6 1/4 inches by 52 ring gauge, but they come in two wrappers. The cigars will be previewed at the PCA trade show in New Orleans and are expected to ship in May or June.
The two wrappers used for Project 10th Anniversary are the same leaf, Honduran Habano grown in the Jamastran valley in both claro and oscuro, and both are affixed with the company’s signature diamond-shaped piece of gold leaf. Inside is a Nicaraguan Habano binder from Jalapa with eight different tobacco types in the filler, making for a total of 10 tobacco varietals in the entire cigar. The fillers, which come from different seed types, regions and primings, are:
- Honduran seco (Copán)
- Honduran seco (Jamastran)
- Nicaraguan viso (Estelí)
- Honduran broadleaf viso
- Paraguayan ligero
- Honduran ligero (Jamastran)
- Nicaraguan ligero (Jalapa)
- Indian ligero
Prices are still undetermined, but will be announced at the show.
The cigars are rolled at the company’s Fabrica Centroamericana de Tabaco S.A. in Danlí, Honduras. They ship in boxes of 14, containing seven of each version. Though production numbers have not been disclosed, the company has stated the cigars will be rolled throughout the year until December and then will be discontinued.
