The Cigar Lounge At Chamberlain’s, Dallas
Chamberlain’s Steak & Fish, located in the heart of North Dallas, has that rare mix of upscale atmosphere and genuine Texas hospitality, making it just as comfortable for longtime cigar smokers as it is for someone walking in for their first premium smoke as this restaurant has a spacious cigar lounge.
It’s a versatile space. As you walk in there are leather couches and upright chairs situated in separate sections along the walls, with dining tables and chairs in the center. The bar is freestanding and has about 15 chairs and several high tables. You can stop in for a quiet evening, meet a client, celebrate with friends, or host a private event without it ever feeling forced or overcrowded. The lounge is spacious, comfortable, and welcoming, with plenty of room for anything from a small group to a larger gathering or even a party. It also has a fully stocked bar with plenty of additional seating, and the lounge is surrounded by large-screen TVs showing the sports channels you would expect. It’s a good size room that gives you space and yet a sense of intimacy at the same time.
What really sets Chamberlain’s apart is the food. The restaurant has traditional, non-smoking seating, but thanks to the lounge there’s also the ability to dine in a cigar-friendly environment. More than 80 people can smoke and eat, not including the seating at the bar. In addition to a host of steakhouse cuts (ribeyes, filets, strips and Wagyu offerings) there are also prime rib, bison strip steak, lamb and pork chops. There’s also a wide array of fish options, including shrimp, trout, flounder and salmon, along with Maine lobster.
The restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Richard Chamberlain, an award-winning chef with a long list of honors, including recognition from Wine Spectator and a place among the Dallas Top 100 Restaurants. Having that level of culinary talent attached to a cigar lounge makes the experience feel even more elevated. Between the full bar, wine selection, premium cigars, and steaks, there are plenty of opportunities for pairings—whether it is Scotch, Bourbon, wine, or a perfectly cooked steak, there is always something new to discover.
The cigar selection is another major reason to visit. The humidor is stocked with premium brands such as Davidoff, Padrón, My Father, Macanudo, and many others, so there is something for just about every preference—mild, medium, or full-bodied. Guests are also welcome to bring their own cigars with no fee, so long as they are drinking or eating. There is also a “Clippers Club” available along with humidor locker memberships.
The staff is especially helpful and friendly, and from the moment you walk in, they make you feel welcome. They know their cigars and spirits, and are happy to make recommendations, adding their expertise without making the experience feel intimidating.
There’s also live entertainment on Tuesday through Saturday (starting at 7:00 pm), which creates a lively but relaxed atmosphere without overpowering conversations, making it easy to settle in one of their leather couches or chairs, and enjoy a smoke with friends, colleagues, or other cigar enthusiasts.
