Fat New Sizes For Bolivar Cofradia
Cigars keep getting thicker, and cigar companies are inflating their product lines to meet consumer demand. Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) has expanded both the Natural and Oscuro versions of its budget-friendly Bolivar Cofradia brand with a hefty new size called 770, named after its 7-inch-long, 70-ring-gauge dimensions. The cigars began shipping to retailers July 1.
“Both Cofradia and Cofradia Oscuro have long been among the best buys in humidors,” said Bolivar brand manager Joe Krzyston in a press release. “Now those same cigars are available in a bold new size. These 770s are for lovers of big ring gauges and uncompromising Bolivar blends.”
The natural version of Cofradia consists of an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, Connecticut broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan and Honduran fillers. The Oscuro line features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, an Ecuador Sumatra binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Both lines are produced in Honduras at STG’s HATSA factory in Honduras.
Both cigar blends have the same suggested retail price—$10.09 each. They come in boxes of 20. The new 770 brings the natural line to six sizes and the Oscuro to four.
