Despite the name, it’s not made in Miami. Rather, the new Trinidad Espiritu Miami Edition was conceived to capture the city’s “vibrant energy, cultural richness and colorful character.” According to Altadis U.S.A., which owns the U.S. trademark and distribution rights for the Trinidad brand, this was achieved by Espiritu Miami’s colorful packaging and bold Nicaraguan blend.

The limited-edition cigar is made entirely from Nicaraguan tobaccos, and comes in one size, a Belicoso measuring 6 1/8 inches long by 52 ring gauge. Like the core Trinidad Espiritu series, it’s made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez. Each Belicoso will have a suggested retail price of $15 and come packed in a 20-count box. Only 4,000 boxes are being produced.

“Miami is a city that thrives on boldness and creativity, and the Trinidad Espiritu Miami Edition truly embodies that spirit,” says Rafael Nodal, head of product capability for Tabacalera USA (Atladis U.S.A.’s parent company). “This cigar celebrates the rich culture, historical craftsmanship and enduring passion that define the Trinidad brand.”

The first Trinidad Espiritu Series came out in 2019. Called the Series No. 1, it was an effort by Altadis to revamp the Trinidad line in the United States, and came packaged in bright, eye-catching, Caribbean-themed boxes. The Series No. 2 and No. 3 followed in subsequent years, all with different blends but each had a considerable amount of Nicaraguan tobacco.

Because the Trinidad Espiritu Miami Edition is a limited-edition cigar, it isn’t technically part of the brand’s numbered series, but stands on its own outside the core line. It will be previewed at next month’s PCA trade show in New Orleans before it ships to retailers immediately afterward.
