Quesada Releasing Sweet New Cigar
Quesada Cigars will unveil a new line at the PCA trade show called Suspiro, named for a Dominican sweet treat that was a favorite of Raquel and Patricia Quesada, who run the company. When they were growing up, a woman named Doña Carmen would prepare meals at the Quesada factory and suspiros were among her desserts. Fittingly, the cigar has a sweet tip, much like the dessert, a traditional meringue confection that’s airy, delicate and light.
Suspiro comes in two styles, Quesada Suspiro Connecticut and Quesada Suspiro Oscuro.
Quesada Suspiro Connecticut is made with a Connecticut wrapper, Dominican binder and blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers. It comes in two sizes, Toro (6 inches long by 52 ring, $13.50) and Short Robusto (4 by 50, $12.25). There are 15 per box.
Quesada Suspiro Oscuro is made with Ecuador wrapper the Quesadas say is grown from Cameroon seed, Dominican binder and a mix of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. It also comes in a Toro size (6 by 52, $13.50) and the second size is called Robusto (5 by 50, $12.75).
Shipments are expected to begin in late April.
