Punch Egg Roll Gets Supersized
It seems like restaurant portions are only getting bigger, so it makes sense that a food-themed smoke is also getting the supersize treatment. General Cigar’s limited-edition Punch Egg Roll is back on the cigar menu for 2026 in a new, hefty size fittingly called XL and it’s out for delivery to tobacconists this week.
“Fans haven’t been shy about telling us how much they loved the first Punch Egg Roll,” says Punch’s brand manager, Scott Abney. “So, it only made sense to bring it back in a bigger size. Egg Roll XL has everything you remember and enjoyed about the original, and then some.”
At 6 inches by 60 ring gauge, the XL is dramatically bigger than the original 4 1/2-by-50 Egg Roll. Along with retaining the shaggy foot of the original, the recipe for XL is unchanged: a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Ecuador Sumatra binder and combination of Colombian, Mexican, American and Dominican fillers. According to the company, the XL is medium in body.
Packaged in 20-count boxes intended to resemble a box of Chinese takeout, the XL is a relatively inexpensive smoke, retailing for only $7.99 each. It’s also a nod to the upcoming Lunar New Year and the Year of the Horse, as chosen by the Chinese zodiac.
Made in Danlí, Honduras, at General Cigar’s HATSA factory, the Punch Egg Roll XL follows other limited editions released with a Chinese-American cuisine theme, including the Chop Suey, Kung Pow!, and Spring Roll.
