Fuente’s Black Pinks Heading To Retailers
Arturo Fuente is taking its Rare Pinks into dark territory. The new Arturo Fuente Black Pink is now available, and it’s a follow-up to the Rare Pink Vintage 1960’s Series, a brand dedicated to breast cancer awareness.
When the Rare Pinks debuted in late 2020, the boxes were particularly striking for their glossy pink paint job. Pink is the official color of breast cancer awareness, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of Rare Pink cigars go to breast cancer research, so these are cigars with a philanthropic mission. The “Vintage 1960’s Series” in the name is an homage to the decade often associated with social, cultural and political changes.
Fuente previewed Black Pink at the 2025 PCA trade show. Now, nearly a year later, the Black Pinks are finally shipping to retailers.
The Black Pink blend is completely different from that of the original Rare Pink, and is centered around its dark, Habano-seed wrapper grown in Connecticut. The rest of the tobacco is Dominican and the cigars are made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera A. Fuente y Cia. Like the original Rare Pink line, all the Black Pinks are all rolled in a double-tapered perfecto shape. Four sizes are available: Black Panther, measuring 6 5/8 by 55 ring gauge ($22.72); Signature (6 by 46, $13.53); Work of Art (4 7/8 by 60, $14.08); Happy Ending (5 1/2 by 53, $16.12). The Signature and Work of Art come in 25-count boxes, the Black Panther is packaged in boxes of 20 and Happy Ending is offered in boxes of 10 cigars.
Because production of Black Pink is relatively low, Fuente says that proceeds are not earmarked for breast cancer research, but the original Rare Pink will remain dedicated to the cause. According to the company, only retail members of the Tobacconists’ Association of America (TAA) are receiving these first shipments. Other retailers will be getting the Black Pinks by the end of the year.
