Espinosa Adds New Colors With 601 Orange And Yellow
Espinosa’s 601 brand is like a box of crayons with an array of colorful bands that differentiate the various lines such as Blue, Green, Red and others, but two more colors have returned as a pair of limited-edition Toros. Orange and Yellow, which first appeared in 2016, are back in the lineup, and shipments began going out to retailers this week.
“We are always trying to make something different for our fans,” said brand owner Erik Espinosa. “They are the ones that have made us successful and here is another opportunity to do something special for them.”
The 601 Orange Toro is rolled with a Brazilian Cubra Rosado wrapper over Nicaraguan internal tobaccos, whereas the 601 Yellow Toro consists of a Mexican San Andrés cover leaf over Nicaraguan binder and filler. According to the company, the Orange is more medium-bodied, whereas the Yellow is medium-to full-bodied.
Shipping in cardboard boxes of 10, the cigars have suggested retail prices of $10 each. Production is limited to only 500 boxes of each cigar.
Most 601s are rolled at A.J. Fernandez’s San Lotano Factory, but Orange and Yellow are rolled at Espinosa’s La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua.
