Once, Florida was a major player in the premium cigar industry but today only a handful of factories are still in operation. Sandy Cobas’ El Titan de Bronze factory in Miami is one of them, producing its own lines such as Redemption, as well as cigars under contract for other companies. For the first time in its 31-year history, El Titan de Bronze is having one of its brands produced outside the United States. The new line is called El Titan de Bronze Nicaragua, and the cigars began shipping this week.

“This moment reflects both our heritage and our future,” said Cobas and company president Giselle Herrera in a joint statement. “Producing our first cigar outside the United States allows us to expand thoughtfully while maintaining the high standards that define El Titan de Bronze. For over thirty years, we’ve produced some of the finest small-batch cigars in the industry, and we are delighted to bring the El Titan experience to cigar lovers everywhere.”

El Titan de Bronze

Made in Estelí, Nicaragua, at Nicaraguan American Cigars S.A. (NACSA), El Titan de Bronze Nicaragua consists of a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, Mexican binder and all-Nicaraguan filler. The cigars are intended to be medium-to-full-bodied in terms of strength.

The line is available in four sizes: Corona, measuring 6 1/4 inches by 48 ring gauge; Robusto, at 5 by 54; Toro, 6 by 52; and the 6-by-60 Gigante. Suggested retail prices range between $7.99 and $9.49. All sizes ship in boxes of 20.
