Dreamer Cigars And J.C. Newman Honor Boxing With New Smokes
Dreamer Cigars has partnered with DJ Walton of Onward Boxing and J.C. Newman Cigar Co. for a new smoke that pays homage to the sweet science of boxing. The new cigars, called Onward Dreams Middleweight Champ, recently shipped to retailers.
You may remember Dreamer Cigars from its collaboration with legendary-NBA star Dennis Rodman last year. The Florida-based company is keeping with its sport theme, this time linking up with Walton. The 46-year-old is a renaissance man of sorts: He owns Onward Athletics, a boxing gear and apparel company, a boxing gym in Georgia under the same banner where he’s a trainer, plus, he’s even got some acting credentials, including a role in Creed II, a continuation of the Rocky franchise. Walton’s son, Javon “Wanna” Walton, is making quite the name for himself too, appearing in HBO’s massive hit show “Euphoria” while building his own boxing career, signing to Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions last year. Walton is his son’s trainer.
J.C. Newman is making the cigars, with production handled down at its PENSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigars come in one size, a pyramid measuring 6 1/4 inches long by 56 ring that Dreamer says is medium in body. The blend features an Ecudoran Havana-seed wrapper with filler and binder tobacco from Nicaragua.
"DJ has his hands in a lot of different pots but is determined to make the Onward Dreams Middleweight Champ an instant classic and with J.C. Newman coming on board to make the cigar, I think the sky is the limit," said Adam Guard, CEO of Dreamer Cigars, in a release.
The cigar is available in 20-count boxes, listed at $240 a box, or $12 per cigar. You can also buy the smokes as a three-pack for $34.99, or $11.66 a stick. The cigars shipped to retailers last week and they’re also available for purchase on the Dreamer Cigars website.
