Caldwell To Ship Travel-Sized The Layover
When traveling, smaller items are ideal to maximize space. When it comes to cigars, the most familiar diminutive format is a petit corona, but not everyone enjoys that vitola’s smaller ring gauges. A new release from Caldwell Cigars is a conveniently-sized smoke with the short length of a petit corona but the girth of a much bigger cigar. It’s called Lost & Found The Layover, and the new cigar is scheduled to ship to retailers next week, starting on Wednesday, October 8.
“I’m always traveling but don’t like the majority of smaller cigars on the market,” says Robert Caldwell. “I love our Manzanitas but sometimes want the hand feel of a full-size cigar. The Layover is something I built for myself: A big-cigar experience in a short-time format. It smokes way bigger than it is.”
The Layover is available in one size, a box-pressed robusto measuring 4 1/4 inches by 54 inches. It’s made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera William Ventura and the blend consists of a Dominican wrapper Caldwell calls Negrito Añejado, Nicaraguan binder and a combination of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler. It has a suggested retail price of $12.60.
Production is limited to just 150 boxes of 20 cigars, or 3,000 cigars in total.
