Ashton’s San Cristobal Golden Hour Arrives
Ashton Distributors Inc. has expanded its San Cristobal series with a new brand called Golden Hour. It’s named after the brief period at either sunrise or sunset where the light is just right for the perfect photograph. Or a smoke. The new cigars started shipping this week.
Made in Nicaragua at the Garcia family’s My Father Cigars, the Golden Hour is covered in an Ecuador Habano wrapper. The rest of the blend consists of Nicaraguan tobacco, all of which was grown on the Garcias’ farms in Estelí, Jalapa, Condega and Namanji. In terms of strength, the cigars are intended to be medium-to-full in body.
Golden Hour comes in 25-count boxes and is available in six sizes: Magico, measuring 5 1/2 inches by 50 ring gauge ($11.40); Bonito, 6 by 52 ($12); Angelico, 7 by 49 ($12.15); the pyramid-shaped Dorado, 6 1/8 by 52 ($12.45); Ocaso, 6 by 60 ($12.75); and Pacifico, 6 1/2 by 64 ($13).
Golden Hour is the fifth brand within the San Cristobal series. For a vertical brand tasting of the new line, see a future issue of Cigar Insider.
