Chocolate Cigars For Your Sweet Tooth
If you’re a follower of Warren Buffett, the Oracle of Omaha and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, you may know that among his vast holdings is See’s Candies. The 105-year-old company makes a variety of sweets in the United States.
Among its library of dessert treats is something that caught our eye: Seegars, a tin pack containing three chocolate cigars. Each has an old-fashioned cigar band with a big “S” in the center, and around the chocolate cigar is a paper wrap meant to evoke, somewhat, a tobacco leaf.
The chocolate cigars are hefty, 54 grams (nearly two ounces) in weight, 5 1/4 inches long with a 56 ring gauge (yes, we measured). Made in San Francisco from a blend of sugar, milk, cocoa butter, chocolate and a touch of vanillin, each piece delivers 290 calories, 31 grams of carbohydrates and even four grams of protein. These are milk chocolate concoctions, and they are rich and creamy with a long, sweet finish.
No word on the draw. We don’t recommend lighting them.
