$150 Cohiba Spectre Shipping Now
When General Cigar Co. introduced the ultra-premium Cohiba Spectre in 2018, it retailed for $90, and was the most expensive Cohiba the company had ever sold. This week the 2025 edition of Spectre began shipping, and it is pricier than ever.
Unlike most cigars, Cohiba Spectre is not made with a set blend, so each edition incorporates different tobaccos. The 2025 edition features a Connecticut Habano wrapper General says was grown in 2017 and aged for seven years. The binder is Mexican San Andrés and the filler blend is a mix of Dominican and Mexican tobaccos, including some Criollo ’98. According to General, this marks the first time a cigar has been made with Criollo ’98 grown in Mao, Dominican Republic.
The cigar is available in one size, a toro measuring 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. With its metallic finish and segmented, cylindrical appearance, the packaging looks more like a prop from an Iron Man movie than a cigar box. At its center is a cylindrical wooden tube containing ten individual metal tubos. Normal cigar tubes provide a level of protection but each tube on the new Cohiba Spectre has a built-in humidification system to ensure optimal cigar condition. The box also functions as a travel humidor.
The box, which includes a certificate of authenticity, has a suggested retail price of $1,500, or $150 per cigar. The Cohiba Spectre 2025 joins an ever-growing list of cigars that sell for $100 or more.
Cohiba Spectre is made in the Dominican Republic at the General Dominicana factory. Production on this 2025 version is limited to just 600 boxes.
