La Flor Dominicana Oro Gets New Packaging
Before Litto Gomez made cigars, he had a successful business as a jeweler. One day, his store was robbed and his career path changed forever. In honor of his previous occupation, Gomez released La Flor Dominicana Oro in 2012, cigars packed in golden tubos (oro is Spanish for gold). Now the line is getting some new packaging options which are shipping now.
Previously, Oro was only available in boxes containing five cigars in tubes. Now, the line will also be available in boxes of 20 untubed cigars. According to the company, this change was in response to customer demand.
“We’ve always believed in these cigars. They represent something deeper than just a product; they’re about refinement born from adversity,” says Gomez.
La Flor Dominicana Oro presently comes in three vitolas, all of which measure 6 inches by 54 ring gauge: Chisel, a wedge-shaped figurado ($18.20); and two toros that both retail for $17.40, the No. 6 Natural and No. 6 Maduro. The blend consists of a high-priming Cuban-seed wrapper grown in Nicaragua with Dominican filler and binder.
These aren’t the only changes for the brand. “There will be three new sizes coming in September,” Gomez told Cigar Aficionado.
The La Flor Dominicana Oro Chisel was most recently the No. 12 cigar of 2022.
