Viva La Vida Jester Coming In Boxes of 10
The Viva La Vida Jester, which was originally only offered in five-count bundles, will soon be available in boxes of 10. It’s a hefty Nicaraguan cigar made by A.J. Fernandez for brand owner Artesano del Tobacco, and according to the company, the decision was made due to consumer demand and popularity.
The Jester size came out in 2019, less than a year after the Viva La Vida line was launched, and was never sold individually. You either had to commit to purchasing at least five at a time or you didn’t buy them. It quickly garnered critical acclaim, performing very well in Cigar Aficionado’s blind tastings and appearing on our annual Top 25 list on two occasions (first in 2020 and again in 2024).
Once the boxes are available this summer, consumers will be able to purchase the cigar individually, making them more accessible to curious smokers who want to sample the Jester without having to buy five, or to those who appreciate more traditional packaging. The cigar measures 5 inches by 56 ring gauge and is a bold, all-Nicaraguan blend made from tobacco grown by A.J. Fernandez, including the dark wrapper. It retails for $13.50 per cigar or $135 per box.
Artesano del Tobacco says that the five-packs are still being offered and there are no plans to discontinue that option.
