Viaje Circa ’45 Limited Edition Reserva Coming Next Month
Viaje’s regular-production Circa ’45 line is getting a limited-edition offshoot and it’s wrapped in a dark, Mexican cover leaf. Called Circa ’45 Reserva, the new line is expected to reach retailers by February 15.
Whereas last year’s Circa ’45 release is made entirely from Nicaraguan tobacco grown by Aganorsa, the new Reserva line is wrapped in a dark leaf of a Mexican San Andrés. According to brand owner Andre Farkas, the binders and fillers are still grown by Aganorsa in Nicaragua, but have been slightly adjusted to work with the new wrapper.
The line will be available in three sizes: No. 1, measuring 5 inches by 52 ring gauge ($12); No. 2, 6 by 54 ($12.80) and No. 3, 5 1/2 by 58 ($13.60). Each size comes in boxes of 25. Production will be limited to 300 boxes of each size.
Originally made at the PDR Cigars factory in the Dominican Republic as a European exclusive, production of Circa ’45 was moved to the Aganorsa Leaf factory in Nicaragua and was introduced to the U.S. market last year.
