X At One Ocean Cigar Lounge Coming To Miami Beach
A Fuente cigar lounge closes, another opens. After the iconic Casa Fuente in Las Vegas closed its doors in October, Fuente fans will have a new venue coming to Miami Beach. Called X at One Ocean, it’s slated to be an indoor-outdoor private oasis that focuses on products and rare releases from Arturo Fuente Cigar Co. The lounge’s prominent X logo is stylized to reference Fuente Fuente OpusX, one of the world’s most prestigious smokes.
The new, members-only lounge is nestled within the One Ocean condominium building located in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood, and promises an exclusive atmosphere with high-fashion design elements throughout. It’s the brainchild of Linden Nelson who’s bringing this project to fruition with his son, Sanford. Of course, Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr., owner and patriarch of Arturo Fuente Cigar Co., granted the Nelsons permission to use the X insignia. According to Nelson, the club’s humidor program will be personally curated by Fuente himself.
“The ‘X’ is not given lightly,” says Fuente. “In our world, the ‘X’ stands for something rare—something that must be earned. When I experienced X at One Ocean, I saw a level of respect for the cigar tradition combined with a forward-thinking vision that is truly unique. It represents a new chapter in how this culture can be experienced. X at One Ocean brings something new, while honoring everything that matters.”
Construction of X at One Ocean is nearing completion, and if all goes according to schedule, it should be operating by late summer with a grand opening in early fall. The private club is zoned for both indoor and outdoor seating, occupying an overall footprint of just under 6,000 square feet. Inside, the lounge will accommodate up to 54 people, with custom leather furnishings from Amura, a high-fashion house of contemporary Italian design. Outside, an additional covered patio will have room for up to 170 guests. Lush landscaping is an important part of the outdoor layout, intended to conceal the perimeter for total privacy and an immersive, resort-like feel. Furniture from Spanish luxury designer Vondom was intentionally selected to add to the ambiance.
“We didn’t set out to build another cigar lounge—we set out to create a completely new category,” says Nelson. “This is where private membership, world-class service and a truly elevated cigar experience come together in a way that simply doesn’t exist anywhere else. We are not just selling cigars and cocktails, we are providing an experience.”
Nelson says that membership for X at One Ocean will be “extremely limited, highly curated and premium by design.” Specific details regarding membership capacity and pricing have not been disclosed. While the lounge is naturally directed toward residents at One Ocean, non-residents may also apply.
“Cigars are about moments, about connection, about passion,” Fuente adds. “X at One Ocean captures that spirit in a completely new way. It’s rare to see something that both respects tradition and advances the cigar culture forward.”
