Steak And Cigar Nights At La Terrazza At Daniel’s, Coral Gables, Florida
Daniel’s, in Coral Gables, Florida, is a high-end steakhouse with a superb wine list. The restaurant has 8,000 bottles in stock, says owner Tom Angelo, and it has held Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence since 2019. The menu is one that would appeal to any carnivore, with Wagyu Tomahawks, Prime ribeyes and New York Strips, and Australian lamb chops among the delicacies.
On Thursday nights, from November through mid-May, the restaurant becomes particularly enticing to cigar lovers. That’s when Daniel’s opens its rooftop called La Terrazza for cigar dinners, where one can pair fantastic steaks with cigars.
“Cigar guys love it because they get a great steak and can smoke their cigars,” says Angelo. He has had some of Florida’s famed cigarmakers in attendance, and tonight the featured cigar is La Flor Dominicana. Litto Gomez, Ines Lorenzo-Gomez and Litto Gomez Jr. will be there this evening. The full menu of the restaurant isn’t available upstairs, but it’s sizeable, featuring “five or six of our signature steaks,” says Angelo, along with Bacardi Specialty cocktails.
The rooftop can accommodate up to 125 people. And while the restaurant will sell you a cigar, Angelo says they are comfortable with people bringing their own. “We have cigars to buy, but some people bring their own.”
As this story was posted, room was still available on the rooftop for this evening. And Angelo says he is considering expanding the program at some point in the future.
