Tatuaje Brings Mummy Back From The Dead
One of the most popular tropes in horror movies is that the monster is never gone for good, merely waiting for its next opportunity to strike. Tatuaje is doing the same with its Monster Series, a line of cigars inspired by the classic creatures of Universal Studios and later horror cinema. Coming soon to haunt a tobacconist near you is Tatuaje Mummy Redux, an extension of the company’s limited-edition Monster Series, which resurrects previously released, spooky smokes.
Made in Nicaragua at My Father Cigars S.A., Mummy Redux is available in one tall size, a double corona with a closed foot measuring 7 1/2 inches by 47 ring gauge (a quarter of an inch shorter than the original release from 2012). It will have a suggested retail price of $13 each. The cigar’s blend is the same as the original Mummy, consisting entirely of Nicaraguan leaves, including the Criollo wrapper. According to the company, Mummy is a medium-to-full-bodied cigar.
Production is limited to 5,000 blood-spattered, coffin-shaped boxes of 13. Of that total, 666 boxes are sequentially numbered, and an additional 34 boxes are being held in reserve for special occasions. Those are marked with an “XX.”
Mummy Redux is the fifth resurrection in the Redux series and is expected to ship in early October. The other monster-themed cigars that have already returned as part of the Redux Monster Series are The Frank, The Drac, The Face and The Wolfman.
