Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro Off To Retailers
There aren’t many mascots in the premium cigar industry, but Johnny Tobacconaut is one of them. The intrepid character is the brainchild of Room101 founder Matt Booth, who created Johnny Tobacconaut 11 years ago (before parent company Scandinavian Tobacco Group acquired the brand). A new maduro version is heading to cigar shops today.
Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut Maduro is a follow-up to the core Room101 Johnny Tobacconaut brand launched in 2023. The new cigar is a regular-production line, an all-Nicaraguan blend that’s made by A.J. Fernandez in Nicaragua. The line, which is intended to be full in body, comes in three sizes: Robusto (5 by 50, $10.29), Toro (6 by 52, $11.39) and Gordo (6 by 60, $12.49). Each size comes in boxes of 20.
The new maduro differs from the earlier version, which has a much lighter Ecuador Connecticut wrapper. Last year, Johnny Tobacconaut celebrated its 10th anniversary with a limited-edition Toro.
