Germany is getting a new Regional Edition Cuban cigar and it was made to celebrate the 90th birthday of Heinrich Villiger, the cigar industry heavyweight who not only owns Villiger Söhne AG, but is the importer and distributor of Cuban cigars for five countries in Europe, including Germany and Switzerland.

The new cigar is called the Ramon Allones Sr. Henry (the “Sr.” stands for señor in Spanish). It measures 5 7/8 inches by 54 ring gauge and is known as a geniales in Cuban cigar factories, a size with the same dimensions as the Montecristo Open Eagle and H. Upmann Connossieur B.

The Ramon Allones Sr. Henry will retail for 19 euros each (about $22.50). They come in 10-count boxes, and only 18,000 boxes are slated for production. While the secondary band indicates that the cigar is exclusive to Germany, Sr. Henry will be available in two other countries. According to 5th Avenue Products Trading GmbH, Germany’s importer and distributor of Cuban cigars, Villiger intends on selling these Regional Editions in Poland and Austria, which are 5th Avenue’s other territories.

Those who attended Germany’s Habanos Day event at Bückeburg Palace last week got a preview of the Sr. Henrys, which were supposed to come out last year in conjunction with Heinrich Villiger’s 90th birthday. Everyone else will have to wait until next month when the cigars are expected to go on sale.

This release marks the third time a Ramon Allones was selected for Germany’s Regional Edition program. The Ramon Allones Belicoso came out in 2010 before the 8-9-8 in 2014.
