Quesada’s Anniversary Cigar Shipping To Retailers
A cigar brand that celebrates Quesada’s 45th year in business has started to appear at retail. Last week, cigar shops received first shipments of the Quesada 1974, an anniversary cigar that was introduced in Spain earlier this year, and then shown at the IPCPR (PCA) trade show this summer.
Named for the year the Quesada family began making cigars in the Dominican Republic, Quesada 1974 consists of a Cameroon-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador with a Dominican binder around a filler blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobacco. According to the company, all of the Dominican tobacco was grown by the Quesada family.
It comes in four sizes: Robusto, at 5 inches by 50 ring gauge; Short Robusto, 4 by 50; Lancero, 7 by 38; and Corona 6 by 43. All sizes are offered in both 10-count and 20-count boxes.
Billed as medium to full-bodied, the smokes have suggested retail prices ranging from $8.50 to $8.95.
Quesada 1974 is rolled at the Quesada Cigar factory in Licey, the Dominican Republic.
