Partagas Decadas 2021 Wrapped in Brazilian Cameroon
The latest edition of the Partagas Decadas series has headed to retailers and features a wrapper grown in Brazil from Cameroon seed, which is a first for the brand.
Cultivated in Brazil’s Bahia region, the wrapper envelops a Connecticut Habano binder and filler blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos.
The Partagas Decadas 2021 comes in one size, a Toro that measures 6 inches by 52 ring gauge. Packed in boxes of 10, each Decadas is presented in its own individual coffin and has a suggested retail price of $17.99 per cigar.
The Partagas Decadas line started in 2005 with tobacco vintages purported to be from a 1995 harvest. The idea was to release a cigar with 10-year-old tobacco, as the word decadas is Spanish for “decades.” Production of Partagas Decadas was halted for 10 years until its return in 2019 as a single-size limited edition. Since then, blends and sizes have differed each year, but all Partagas Decadas cigars have something in common—Cameroon-seed wrappers.
The line was formerly distributed by General Cigar Co., but is now handled by Forged Tobacco Co., a newly formed subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, a European corporation that owns both entities. Like the core non-Cuban Partagas line, Decadas is made in the Dominican Republic at the General Cigar Dominicana factory.
