New Size Of Knuckle Sandwich On Way To Stores
Knuckle Sandwich, the cigar brand created by cigarmaker Erik Espinosa and television personality Guy Fieri, now has two new portly sizes. They began shipping from Miami this week, and are on their way to cigar shops now.
The new size is 6 inches long with a 60 ring, called Knuckle Sandwich Gordo C, which is available in both Maduro and Habano wrappers. Each blend is entirely Nicaraguan on the inside. The Habano line is cloaked in Ecuador Habano wrapper, while the Maduro version has an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper. This is the fourth size in each line. (The Connecticut version of Knuckle Sandwich remains unchanged, at three sizes.)
Fieri, who is on the July/August cover of Cigar Aficionado magazine, is a particular fan of the new, thick size, which falls into the Grande tasting category in the magazine.
“I have always been a big ring gauge guy,” he says. “Really reminds me of my first days of getting into cigars . . . and getting to sit around and take an hour plus and relax.”
The cigars, like the other sizes in the Knuckle Sandwich collection, are rolled by A.J. Fernandez at San Lotano Cigars S.A. in Nicaragua. The bottom of each box reads “Made In Flavortown,” a nod to Fieri’s catchphrase. They are packed 20 to the box, and have suggested retail prices of $14 each.
