New Alec Bradley Cigars Shipping Worldwide This Week
Alec Bradley Cigar Co. is shipping a new brand and bringing back an older one. This week, the new Alec Bradley Gatekeeper is heading to retail stores, as is the re-issued Alec Bradley Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut.
Originally introduced in 2014, the Alec Bradley Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut measures 6 inches by 54 ring gauge and is a Nicaraguan puro, containing the same blend as the rest of the Nica Puro line but with an extra leaf of strong ligero tobacco in the filler. Pressed into a unique diamond shape, this limited-edition cigar is made with a special cigar mold at the Plasencia Cigars factory in Nicaragua.
“Due to the unique shape, we only have the ability to produce 1,500 boxes per run,” said company founder Alan Rubin.
The Nica Puro Diamond Rough Cut comes in 16-count boxes and retails for $9.38 per cigar.
The second release, Gatekeeper, is the brainchild of Rubin’s sons Alec and Bradley, who teamed up with cigar veteran Ernesto Perez-Carrillo to create the first regular-production Alec & Bradley line (last year’s Blind Faith was a limited release). Gatekeeper features an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.
“Working with Ernesto opens up new doors for Bradley and me,” said Alec. “Ernesto is a gatekeeper to new opportunities and experiences for us—thus the name Gatekeeper.”
The line is available in four sizes: Corona, measuring 5 1/8 by 42 ($8.75); Robusto, 5 by 50 ($10.50); Toro, 6 by 52 ($11.50); and Gordo, 6 by 60 ($12.25). Each cigar band is decorated with an image of Cellini’s 16th Century Medusa head.
Gatekeeper comes in 20-count boxes and is made at Perez-Carrillo’s La Alianza factory in the Dominican Republic.
