My Favorite Cigar
Jimmy Failla • Talk Show Host, Comedian • Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Diplomatico
One minute, Jimmy Failla is driving a New York City cab and moonlighting as a stand-up comedian. The next, he’s got his own political talk show on FOX News, not to mention a daily radio program. Of course, it didn’t happen quite that quickly, but the 48-year-old New York native has turned his club-level humor into a national brand that’s consumed nearly every day by a huge audience. During the week, he hosts the conservative afternoon radio talk show, “Fox Across America.” On the weekend, it’s “Fox News Saturday Night,” where he continues to lampoon the politics of the left on television.
When he’s off the air, Failla likes to host weekly smokers at home on Long Island. “I host a cigar party in my yard every Sunday, probably with the exception of 10 of them since 2010,” he says. “Some of [the guests] are comics, screen writers, sometimes its FOX talent, but we’re usually in the yard for six hours, blasting music and just kind of taking it in.” You might also catch him at Manhattan’s Carnegie Club, enjoying cigars while developing material, hopefully over a Padrón 1964 Anniversary Series Diplomatico, which Failla says is his favorite.
