My Favorite Cigar
Russell Dickerson • Musician • My Father The Judge Grand Robusto
Russell Dickerson remembers his dad introducing him to cigars. “For my 18th birthday—right around graduation—my dad took me and my best friend out for our first legal cigar ride. It’s a memory I’ll never forget.”
Today, when he’s not performing to sold-out amphitheaters, the multi-platinum recording artist and Tennessee native likes to relax at home with a smoke.
“We have a huge fire pit at the top of our property and it faces the sunset,” says Dickerson, 38. His favorite cigar moments are “around a fire, sun setting over the Tennessee hills, glass of red wine in hand.”
The “Happen To Me” singer enjoys cigars from My Father and Davidoff, in particular The Judge Grand Robusto and Baccarat Churchill. “I’m a big Churchill guy,” he says. “It’s just the perfect size to me.”
The country-pop performer likes to light up on tour, too. “After a show, I love to just sit and unwind, let the adrenaline wear off.” Outside the tour bus, he pairs his post-show cigar with a Miller Lite. “And it’s cool too—some of the crew, other artists—we’ll all circle up and just talk life, music, whatever. Those moments end up being some of the most real ones on the road.”
