Ireland’s First-Ever Regional Edition Cuban Coming To U.K.
The Punch Néctares No. 50 Exclusivo Irlanda, the first Regional Edition cigar ever made for Ireland, is taking a short trip across the Irish Sea and will soon be on sale in England and the rest of the United Kingdom.
The Cuban cigar will make its British debut at James J. Fox starting with a February 5 event, and after a one-week exclusive at Fox venues it will go on sale via Habanos Cigar Specialists across the United Kingdom, distributed by British importer Hunters & Frankau, the exclusive Habanos importer for the U.K. region.
The cigar made its debut in Ireland last year, as reported by Cigar Aficionado on June 23.
The Néctares No. 50 is 6 1/4 inches long by 50 ring, packed in cabinets of 50. The cigars have a suggested retail price of 65 euros ($75) apiece, and they come in numbered cabinets. Production has been capped at 1,400 boxes, or 70,000 cigars.
The Néctares was a subset of the Punch brand once made exclusively for James J. Fox in Dublin and London, but the line was discontinued in the 1980s. Upon its return last year, Rob Fox, director of James J. Fox said: “Finally bringing Ireland its first Habanos Regional Edition is a moment of immense pride.”
The cigars have two bands, a specially commissioned Punch band customized with the name of the vitola, and a Regional Edition band that reads “Exclusivo Irlanda.”
