HVC 500th Anniversary Gets A Lancero
The people asked and their voices have been heard. Boutique cigarmaker HVC Cigars is adding a slender size to its 500th Anniversary line, a lancero—the first of its kind in the company’s portfolio. Intended to be an annual release in limited quantities, the 500th Anniversary Lancero will be on preview at this month’s PCA trade show and is expected to reach retailers by Father’s Day.
Brand owner Reinier Lorenzo created the 500th Anniversary line in 2019 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the founding of Cuba. It’s rolled at the company’s Fabrica de Tabacos HVC S.A. factory in Nicaragua, and is composed entirely of Nicaraguan tobaccos: a Corojo ’99 wrapper, Corojo ’99 binder and Criollo ’98 and Corojo ’99 filler.
Topped with a flagtail cap, the Lancero measures 7 1/2 inches by 38 ring gauge and has a suggested retail price of $12.80 each. Production for 2026 is limited to 500 boxes of 10 cigars.
