Highclere Castle Senetjer Ships For 2025
The pharaonic cigar has returned. Foundation’s limited-edition Highclere Castle Senetjer, which has a King Tut theme, is back for 2025 and on its way to retailers.
In 2022, Nick Melillo of Foundation Cigar Co. debuted the Highclere Castle Senetjer to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the discovery of King Tut’s tomb. The motif was reflected on the packaging with ancient Egyptian iconography and an ornate box resembling one found in the actual tomb. Since then, Melillo released Senetjer quarterly in limited quantities. Moving forward, the cigar will be sent out annually in November to coincide with the anniversary of the tomb’s discovery. This year’s production began shipping to retailers this week.
“King Tut’s tomb is one of the greatest archeological discoveries of all time,” says Melillo, who has a fascination with antiquities. “Due to the exceptional demand for this unique blend, we’ve decided to release 700 boxes every November in honor of this historic moment.”
Senetjer (the ancient Egyptian word for “incense”) is available in one size, a perfecto measuring 6 3/4 inches by 52 ring gauge. Made in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez, it’s a three-country blend consisting of a high-priming Ecuador Habano wrapper, Brazilian Mata Fina binder and Nicaraguan filler.
The cigars have a suggested retail price of $33 apiece, or $396 per 12-count box.
Highclere Castle Senetjer is produced in collaboration with George Herbert, eighth Earl of Carnarvon, whose ancestor George Herbert, the fifth earl of Carnarvon, excavated the tomb with famed archaeologist Howard Carter.
