Fuente OpusX Society Cigars Now Come In Packs of Three
Superstitious people often say that bad things come in threes, but the opposite is true in the cigar world. The ultra-rare Fuente Fuente OpusX Society cigars will soon be available in attractive, slide-lid three-packs.
Made with a very finite amount of Dominican wrapper, OpusX cigars are released sporadically throughout the year and can be difficult to find. The OpusX Society cigars are even harder—practically unicorns in the premium market. But the Society cigars may now just be a little easier to come by, as the three packs are on their way to retailers this week.
The OpusX Society cigars were released last year, and made exclusively for retail shops that carry products from the OpusX Society, an upscale lifestyle and accessories company featuring Fuente-branded items such as ashtrays, cutters and lighters. The company was founded by designer and photographer Manny Iriarte.
Officially called the Fuente Fuente OpusX Edición de la Sociedad, these cigars are made with a unique OpusX blend and adorned with blue, silver and yellow bands—quite an unusual color scheme for OpusX. They measure 6 1/4 inches by 49 ring gauge.
When the cigars launched last year, they had a suggested retail price of $90 apiece, or $1,800 per 20-count box, but the company says it leaves pricing up to the individual retailer. Some stores are charging up to $130 per cigar, so this three-pack could retail for as low as $270 or as high as $390, depending on the shop.
According to the company, The OpusX Society has products in 347 stores in the United States, and each one is eligible to carry the cigars, although not all necessarily will.
Like all OpusX cigars, the OpusX Society is made by Arturo Fuente Cigar Co. in the Dominican Republic and features Dominican tobacco from the Chateau de la Fuente farm.
