Eiroa First 20 Years TAA Exclusive Heading To Stores
Honduran cigarmaker C.L.E. Cigar Co. is shipping Eiroa The First 20 Years Redondo, a new size made specifically for Tobacconists’ Association of America retailers. Featuring a tweaked blend and a new look, the new cigar is heading to cigar shops starting tomorrow, and will be sold exclusively to members of the TAA. It was previewed in October 2024, at the TAA trade show held in Aruba.
Measuring 6 inches by 54 ring gauge, the Redondo looks markedly different from the six core sizes in the First 20 Years line. Instead of being placed in a mold for box-pressing, the Redondo is round, a first for the line. It’s also clad in a dark cover leaf from the San Andrés valley in Mexico, while the core line is rolled with a Honduran wrapper. (The story posted on this site last October about the new smoke incorrectly described the cigar as a Honduran puro.) Inside, the Redondo retains the same Honduran binder and fillers grown on farms owned by the Eiroa family. Each one has a suggested retail price of $16.16.
According to the company, the cigar is medium-to-full-bodied in terms of strength. C.L.E.’s Christian Eiroa told Cigar Aficionado that the round shape and new cover leaf adds a creamy richness to the smoke without significantly affecting its strength.
Like the rest of the First 20 Years line, the Redondo is produced in Danlí, Honduras, at the C.L.E. Cigar Factory. Production is limited to just 500 boxes of 10 cigars.
