Davidoff Year of the Ox Arriving This Month
Continuing its annual celebration of the Chinese zodiac, Davidoff of Geneva is acknowledging 2021 early with the hefty Year of the Ox, a 6 inch by 60 ring gauge cigar headed to retailers this month. It’s a follow-up to last year’s Year of the Rat toro and is the ninth installment of Davidoff’s decorative Chinese Zodiac collection.
In Chinese culture, the ox is valued for its strength, hard work and reliability–along with its humility. Davidoff intended to reflect these zodiacal ideals through a hefty ring gauge and a blend of Dominican wrapper, Ecuador Sumatra binder and filler from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The boxes feature upward sloping sides intended to mimic oxen horns. Each 10-count box will retail for $400 each, or $40 per cigar.
Made at the Cigars Davidoff factory in the Dominican Republic, Year of the Ox will reach U.S. Davidoff dealers on November 16 and ship globally throughout the month, though precise dates depend on the country.
