Davidoff Chefs Edition Back For Second Run

Davidoff Chefs Edition Back For Second Run

A limited-edition cigar blended by world-renowned chefs is once again shipping to retailers nationwide. Called Davidoff Chefs Edition, the cigar launched last year in a small run of only 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars. Now the cigar is back, with the same blend and size dimensions—but with double the production. The company says that 3,000 boxes will be available in the United States. The cigar will begin shipping to retailers this month.

The idea, Davidoff says, was to have its master blenders work with six celebrity chefs to craft the perfect after-dinner cigar. Davidoff Chefs Edition measures 6 inches by 54 ring and wears an Ecuadoran Habano 2000 wrapper, Ecuadoran Connecticut binder, and fillers consisting of San Vicente Mejorado seco, San Vicente Mejorado visus, Piloto Cubano visus and San Vicente visus, all hailing from the Dominican Republic.

Davidoff Chefs Edition

The cigar is manufactured at the Cigars Davidoff factory in the Dominican Republic. Davidoff Chefs Edition ships in wooden boxes of 10 cigars, each with a suggested retail price of $30.

According to Davidoff, the six chefs who applied their refined palates to influencing the blend of the cigar are: Swiss chef Peter Knogl, of the Cheval Blanc of Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel, Switzerland; Maria Marte, of Club Allard in Madrid, Spain; Léa Linster, of Restaurant Léa Linster in Frisange, Luxembourg; Ali Güngörmüs, of Le Canard HH Pageou in Münich, Germany; Michel Trama, of Restaurant Michel Trama in Puymirol, France; and Renato Wüst, of Bad Ragaz Grand Resort in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland.

Collectively, the chefs have amassed nine Michelin stars.
