Patriotic Cigar Accessories For Independence Day
Happy birthday, America. This Saturday marks the 250th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. In honor of our nation’s Semiquincentennial, we’re taking a close look at some of our favorite cigar accessories that feature the stars and stripes, Lady Liberty and other unmistakable symbols of the United States. Xikar Xi2 Terroir Series USA Cigar Cutter

America250 Cigar Humidor
Jason LeGear of Milwaukee Humidor Co. teamed up with J.C. Newman Cigar Co. to create the America250 Cigar Humidor ($2,750). Handmade in Wisconsin, the humidor features a wooden map of the United States on its lid that was inlaid using marquetry techniques. Each state was carved from a specimen of its own native wood. The humidor bears the official America250 branding of the United States Semiquincentennial Commission and comes packaged with 50 The American cigars inside, which are made in Tampa, Florida, by J.C. Newman with American tobacco. Only 50 limited-edition humidors have been released. The humidor can hold about 100 to 125 cigars.
Zippo Americana Lighters
Pennsylvania lighter manufacturer Zippo offers a wide range of U.S.-themed lighters in its Americana collection. Our top picks for Independence Day include the 250th Anniversary Special Edition Lighter ($49.95); a matte white-and-red lighter with a shiny blue lighter insert; the Patriotic model ($26.95), featuring an American flag and a distressed “Street Chrome” finish; and the America250 Pinstripes Design ($35.95), a matte white lighter with the official America250 logo surrounded by thin red-and-blue stripes. Don’t forget to swap out the traditional Zippo wick for a cigar-friendly butane insert. They’re available in single torch, double torch and soft flame varieties.
Les Fines Lames Le Petit Flag Series USA Cigar Cutter
French accessories maker Les Fines Lames has a cigar cutter with an American flag design that doubles as a Piedmontese knife. Called the Le Petit Flag Series USA cigar cutter ($169), it’s a folding, pocket-sized model with a painted wood handle and a sharp 14C28N stainless steel blade. Made in Thiers, France’s historic knife-making capital, the Le Petit knife is capable of cutting the caps from smokes up to 70 ring gauge.
United States Cigar Caddy Travel Case
Constructed from durable ABS molded plastic, the United States Cigar Caddy Travel Case features American flag artwork by Charlie Turano III and is built to be nearly uncrushable, airtight and waterproof up to 100 feet. Its cold- and heat-resistant design can withstand temperatures ranging from 10 degrees below zero to 175 degrees Fahrenheit. The travel humidor comes with interior foam cushioning and a built-in humidifier disc. It’s offered in five-count (shown here, $35.99), 10-count ($40.99) and 15-count ($46.99) cigar capacity models.
S.T. Dupont 250th Anniversary Haute Creation Ligne 2 and Double Cutter
In honor of the United States’ two and a half centuries of freedom, luxury accessories maker S.T. Dupont has introduced the 250th Anniversary Haute Creation collection. Two standout pieces from the lineup are the Haute Creation Ligne 2 Lighter in a green patina ($6,295) and its complementary Double Cutter ($4,695) cigar tool. Both pieces feature a hand-cast bronze image of the Statue of Liberty on one side and the American flag on the other. Crafted in France, the 250th Anniversary accessories are exclusive to the United States market. The lighter has palladium accents and makes S.T. Dupont’s signature “ping” sound when opened. The Double Cutter is equipped with both a double-blade and a v-cutter, delivering two different ways to cut your cigars. It’s designed to snip the caps from smokes up to 56 ring gauge.
