You can lay odds neither golfers nor gearheads had the following on their bingo cards for spring 2026: McLaren released a new line of golf clubs. The supercar builder and Formula 1 racing fixture decided to pour its honored technology into sets of irons aimed squarely at the more passionate player of means.

The clubs hit the market in April with Series 1 and Series 3 incarnations. (Don’t ask where Series 2 ended up out in the golf ether.) Review samples are as difficult to come by as an Artura Spider for $19.99, but savvy and curious players can get their hands on a set at their local Club Champion or True Spec fitting center with a creative tale about how you’re in the market for expensive clubs.

The Series 1 are “bladey” and aimed at low handicappers with ample swing speed, reliable club face control and the ability to shape shots. Proprietary metal injection molding produces a tightly packed club head structured with tungsten and the sort of high-grade carbon fiber used in McLaren’s automotive builds.

Series 3 lean into the mid-handicapper market with a cavity back structure and thinned face engineered to proceed a denser center of gravity to help the club drop into the slot with stability. Utilizing the same top-secret, metal-injection for their molded frame as the 1s, the 3s offer less potential precision, but more reassuring contact to assist imperfect swings.

McLaren set their pricetags to compete with the other top-end clubs in the marketplace—just as their cars work to share lanes with Aston Martin and Ferrari. Available only via bespoke fitting and individualized order, a set of seven Series 1 and Series 3 irons sell for $375 per club or $2,625 a set, which runs from 4 iron to pitching wedge. That sets McLaren’s offering a tick above the PXG GEN8 irons (about $249 per stick) and below Japan’s Miura clubs (ranging in price from around $310 to $450 per iron).

Both McLaren Series feel more akin to those PXGs in testing—solid with remarkable smash factor. That’s no coincidence as that rival company also invests in the best materials and packs their irons with a proprietary polymer to force compression and better distance. The fitting experience is essential as he or she must lock in weight and stiffness with the proper shaft as the packed weight of the McLarens can create additional lag and open the club for fades and slices if the mix is too light.

For now, it’s strictly irons for McLaren Golf. There’s no sign of a driver, putters, fairway woods, hybrids or short game irons (such as 60 degree lofted wedges). It’s a safe bet such products are coming, but even a supercar maker needs to start slow when jumping tracks into the golf equipment race.

Of course, if you buy in to McLaren Golf and end up playing the same brand you’re driving, good luck getting any of the trademarked Vessel partnership golf bags into the frunk of your car. You’ll be headed to the course date free with your sticks snuggled up next to you in the passenger seat.
