Brizard Home Run Collection

You can feel it in the air. The first chill of autumn means the World Series is almost here. Soon, cigar-smoking baseball fans will be lighting up to celebrate playoff victories or puffing to ease the sting of defeat. Either way, you can enjoy the Series with the Home Run Collection from cigar accessories maker Brizard & Co.

Company founder Cyril Brizard says the set celebrates the ties between cigars and baseball: “In Cuba, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, the No. 1 sport is baseball. The Home Run Collection was made to honor the favorite sport of the top cigar-making countries.”

Clad in brown leather, the accessories are meant to evoke the look and the feel of a baseball glove. The set includes a torch lighter, a three-finger cigar holder, a V-cutter and a roomy, feature-packed travel case. Brizard says a Home Run double-guillotine cutter, a tabletop lighter and a cigar humidor are in the works.

Crafted with a flip-top cap, the Home Run Venezia Lighter ($240, not pictured) produces a single, fountain-like torch flame. The Home Run Show Band Three Cigar Case ($250, center) is topped with a piece of an actual baseball, red stitching and all. The case is lined with Spanish cedar, includes adjustable dividers to separate three smokes and can carry cigars up to 60 ring gauge. Each limited-edition case is adorned with an individually numbered plate. Only 250 cases will be released.

Made from stainless steel, the chrome-plated Home Run V-Cutter ($150, bottom) delivers precise, triangle-shaped cuts to the head of your cigar. It handles cigars up to 60 ring gauge and comes with a protective pouch secured by a magnetic strap.

For an all-in-one solution, Brizard steps up to bat with the Home Run Havana Traveler ($550, not pictured). The zippered carrying case houses a flask for spirits, two magnetic pouches to protect a cutter and a lighter, a cedar-lined magnetic case that can hold five cigars up to 60 ring gauge, a writing instrument loop and an inner sleeve for credit or business cards to slip into.

All leatherwork and woodwork in the Home Run Collection is completed at Brizard’s factory in California.
