Black Label Trading Co. Shows Its Stripes With Tigersaurus
In 2017, Black Label Trading Co. introduced the Neon Tiger, a cigar only available to those who visited the Fábrica Oveja Negra factory in Nicaragua. It’s part of a small line called Black Works Studios Tiger Series. Next week, a new size in the series named Tigersaurus will be shipping nationally and available to everyone.
Tigersaurus is a corona gorda measuring 5 1/2 inches by 48 ring gauge ($19). The Tiger Series cigars are rolled with an eye-catching array of three alternating wrapper leaves of different colors creating a tiger-striping effect. As no tigers have the same stripes, each installment of the Tiger Series is a different blend and the company intended the new cigar to be a “bigger, bolder interpretation” of previous cigars in the series. For the wrappers, Tigersaurus incorporates both Pennsylvania and Connecticut broadleaf, along with some green candela from Honduras. Underneath is an Ecuador Habano binder and Nicaraguan filler, making for an intended medium-to-full-bodied blend.
Production is limited to 800 boxes (15-count) for the U.S. market, with an additional 50 allocated for Europe.
In addition to Tigersaurus and the original Neon Tiger, the other sizes in the Tiger Series are the Tiger Lily and Khan. The three older sizes are available as part of an event-exclusive sampler called The Ambush Collection.
