Alec Bradley Shipping Trilogy
The Alec Bradley Trilogy, a cigar that’s pressed into a distinctive triangle shape, is shipping to U.S. retailers next week. There will be 6,000 boxes of the limited-edition smokes sent out for the holidays, equally split between three wrapper varieties, all of them in a six-inch-long, 52-ring-gauge toro format.
“Trilogy has been a passion project for me since I started with Alec Bradley in 2017,” said Bradley Rubin, son of company founder Alan Rubin. “I'm honored that my dad, Alan, finally allowed me to move forward with the project; and now we have the opportunity to share a part of Alec Bradley's history with our brand advocates, old and new.”
Trilogy originally hit cigar stores in 2002, and its unique shape opened eyes, but the company stopped shipping them about 10 years ago. This past August it came back as a limited-edition robusto shape made solely for Florida’s Smoke Inn. Now, the toro size is going out to cigar shops nationwide.
Trilogy is rolled at Nestor Plasencia’s Tabacos De Oriente in Danlí, Honduras. It comes in three blends: Authentic Corojo, Exotic Maduro and Native Cameroon, blended to mimic the way the cigar tasted in 2002. The cigars have identical blends on the inside (Connecticut-seed binders from Honduras, and fillers from Nicaragua and Honduras) but different wrappers.
Exotic Maduro is made with a maduro wrapper from Jalapa, Nicaragua; Authentic Corojo has a Corojo-seed wrapper from the Jamastran Valley in Honduras; and Native Cameroon is made with Cameroon wrapper from Africa.
The cigars will sell for $15 each.
