Alec Bradley Fine & Rare Anniversary Box Set Now Shipping
In what is perhaps the most elaborate “greatest hits” package that Alec Bradley has ever compiled, the Ten Year Anniversary Fine & Rare Set is making its way to retailers this week. To make such a box set possible, brand owner Alan Rubin went into his inventory archives and selected a series of aged cigars from the Fine & Rare brand, some of which, he says, date back to 2014.
According to Rubin, the logistical complications arising from Covid-19, as well as subsequent hurricanes in Central America delayed the release, but first shipments are now heading to cigar shops.
Rubin says that the smokes contained within this retrospective package are not simply recreations of the original blends, but are aged cigars that he set aside each year specifically for this project.
Retailing for $600, the 10 Year Anniversary set contains 25 cigars—five each of the following Fine & Rare sizes:
- TA25A, a 7 inch by 54 ring gauge figurado from 2014
- HJ10-I, a 6 by 52 toro from 2016
- BR12-13, a 6 by 52 torpedo from 2017
- JRS10=(86), a 6 1/2 by 52 toro from 2018
- HOF/506, a 6 1/4 by 54 box-pressed toro from 2019
Only 500 boxes are being released.
While the blend varies from size to size, cigars in the Fine & Rare line are composed of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobacco from various seed types, primings and ages. They are made in Honduras at the Raices Cubanas factory.
An earlier version of this story had an incorrect number for the cigars in the box; it is 25, not 26, and there is no mystery Toro.
