Alec Bradley Expands Fine & Rare Line
Alec Bradley Fine & Rare is the company’s most complicated cigar. Made with ten tobaccos at the superb Raices Cubanas factory in Danlí, Honduras, Fine & Rare debuted last year as a one-size release, packaged ornately with great detail. Now the company has created a second size, which will be on the market soon.
The Alec Bradley Fine & Rare Torpedo measures 6 inches long by 52 ring. Unlike most cigar brands, this one is made with a slightly different blend than the original, although on paper it remains the same: Honduran wrapper, Honduran binder and a mix of Honduran and Nicaraguan fillers. “We thought that with the 10 tobaccos, we could continue to play with it,” said brand owner Alan Rubin.
The cigars come packed in an ornate wooden box with individual holders to ensure the cigars stay protected. Each cigar is numbered and has the signatures of Rubin and company vice president Ralph Montero, as well as the project manager, roller and buncher for that particular cigar.
Last year was a limited run of 1,000 boxes (10,000 cigars); this year production has been doubled to 2,000 boxes (20,000 cigars). The cigar will retail for $16.50 per cigar.
