Aged Tatuajes In Cabs of 50
Tatuaje brand owner Pete Johnson has released a limited batch of older, American-made smokes to celebrate a milestone birthday. He’s shipped 100 boxes each of older Tatuaje Noellas, Regios and J21s from Miami, each one containing 50 cigars, and each emblazed with the no. 50 on the lid.
“They are normal Noellas, Regios and J21’s from our production in Miami,” Johnson said. “The branding and bands are the same as the 25-count boxes. The difference is that the cigars come from older production and the cigars are packed in foil paper [bundles] inside the cabinet of 50.” The cigars, said Johnson, “were aged for just over a year before packing them in the cabinets.”
The Noellas and Regios are from the core Tatuaje line, while the J21 is a Tatuaje Reserva. All are made in Miami from Nicaraguan tobaccos and Ecuadoran wrappers. Despite the year of aging, and the foil wrap, suggested retail prices are the same as for the regular versions. The Noella size measures 5 1/8 by 42 and retails for $9, Regios are 5 1/2 by 50 ring and retail for $11, and J21s are 5 by 50 and sell for $12. The Regios measure 5 1/2 by 50 ring, Noellas 5 1/8 by 42, J21s are 5 by 50. The cigars were made in Miami by My Father Cigars, which makes all Tatuajes for Johnson.
“Only 100 cabinets of each were made to celebrate my 50th birthday and they will not be made again,” said Johnson.
