Aganorsa Leaf is about to release a new line of cigars called Rare Leaf Reserve, smokes rolled with rare tobaccos that the company grows in in small quantities. The new line is expected to ship to retailers in February.

The Rare Leaf Reserve line was created to make a regular production line of cigars made from low-yield tobaccos grown on specific farms owned by Aganorsa. The cigars are Nicaraguan puros, which consist of a wrapper grown in Jalapa, a pair of Criollo ‘98 binders from two different farms in Estelí and a filler blend that is predominantly Criollo ’98, with a little Corojo ’99 also added to the mix.

Rolled at the Aganorsa Leaf factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, the line will come in three sizes: Robusto, measuring 5 1/4 by 52 ring gauge ($10.99); Toro, 6 by 54 ($11.50); and Titan, 6 by 60 ($12.10). The cigars will be packed in boxes of 15. Rare Leaf Reserve line will be only be available through Aganorsa Leaf Select retail partners.

The company is also adding a new, slim size to its Supreme Leaf line. The Supreme Leaf Corona Gorda, which measures 6 inches by 46 ring gauge, will be the brand’s slimmest size yet. The box-pressed cigars are rolled with a dark Nicaraguan, Corojo ’99 wrapper and Nicaraguan binder and filler. According to Terence Reilly, vice president of sales and marketing at Aganorsa, the company has been receiving requests from customers for the Supreme Leaf to be available in a size under 50 ring gauge.

The new Corona Gorda has a suggested retail price of $10.50 per cigar. It too will ship in February. Production is limited to 2,000 boxes of 10.

This marks the third size of Supreme Leaf, and it will sport the same bold orange and purple boxes as the previous releases. Supreme Leaf originally debuted as a single 5 by 52 robusto size in 2019 and a 6 by 54 toro size earlier this year.
