Where To Smoke In Atlanta For Super Bowl LIII
Atlanta's Red Phone Booth will transport you back to the days of speakeasies.

If you’re lucky enough to be going to the Super Bowl in Atlanta this weekend (or, if you’re just heading to that southern city sometime soon) you’ll be pleased to find many cigar friendly places, more than in your average U.S. city. (In fact, NFL star Cam Newton is opening a new high-end cigar bar there this weekend.)

Here are a few notable spots to enjoy a cigar in Atlanta.

The Red Phone Booth
17 Andrew Young International Blvd. Northeast, 1st Floor

Taking you back to the days of speakeasies is the motto at The Red Phone Booth. Even though this gorgeous lounge takes all the steps to make you feel like you’re back in the days when booze was banned (you enter through an antique phone booth, as if you were evading Eliot Ness’ crew) you’ll know immediately there’s just no way cocktails were this good back then.

From reverse osmosis ice cubes, freshly squeezed juices and top-tier spirits, the cocktails here are superb. Cigars are welcome, and the humidor has some 100 choices. There is food as well.

New York Prime
3424 Peachtree Rd. NE

Cigar friendly steakhouses make us happy, and that’s what New York Prime offers, along with live music and valet parking. The menu is what you would expect at a high-end meat joint: think seafood appetizers and mighty cuts of beef for your main, including bone-in rib steaks and triple-cut lamb chops. Cigar smoking is allowed in the bar.

Trilogy Cigar Lounge
375-B Luckie St. NW

You can smoke and dine to your heart’s content at Trilogy, where the chef designs a new tasting menu every few months, each one geared to pair well with cigars and wine. Recent offerings include braised short ribs, salmon tacos and orange miso salmon. The lounge has a no reservations policy, and on Sundays it’s only open to members.

Terrapin Taproom & Cigar Lounge
Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, Concourse D

Believe it or not, you can start your Atlanta cigar soujorn with a cigar right in the airport. Now don’t expect the Grand Havana Room, but the Terrapin Taproom & Cigar Lounge has a humidor with a few smokes, beers on tap and an area where cigars are tolerated. You don’t see that every day.
