Sartorial Cigar Cases
For 131 years, London’s Alfred Dunhill has been a leading purveyor in masculine wares: bespoke clothing, fine leather goods and, of course, tobacco. Its new Sartorial Cigar Cases, in the White Spot line, combines all three gentlemanly interests in one product. On the outside, the cases are sheathed in the typical leather. The inserted piece is covered in wool of similar quality to that found on a Saville Row. The effect is also evocative of everything Dunhill has made over the years: an elegant, yet insouciant style.
Each cigar case can hold two cigars of up to 60 ring gauge at a time. The cases function telescopically in two pieces, allowing them to adapt perfectly to cigars of varying lengths. The cigar holders are handcrafted in Dunhill’s London workshop. Using wooden lasts, leather artisans bring together 30 individual parts to assemble these cases. There are currently three Sartorial Cigar Case models on the market, each with matching dimensions and burgundy goatskin lining with a retail price of $495.
The Highland 10 case (above, at left) combines an inner piece draped in traditional gray chalk-stripe worsted wool flannel with an outer portion made of black cowhide leather with crocodile embossing. Sophisticated, classy and sharp and made for a man’s business suit, consider this your dinner party cigar case among the three. The Highland 11 (center) offers a counter to the Highland 10. The brown worsted houndstooth tweed pattern in the virgin wool interior perfectly harmonizes with the tan-colored goat leather outer piece. The third model, the Highland 12 (right) adds a dash of color and subdued eccentricity to the mix. The gray virgin wool interior is patterned with shades of purple checks and is paired with an outside portion made of gray cowhide with lavender undertones.
The cigar cases can be purchased at any authorized Dunhill retailer across the United States or by contacting Augusta USA LLC, Dunhill’s U.S. distributor. The company is making the Sartorial line in a limited quantity of an unspecified number.
