Haso’s Taiji Cigar Cutter Evokes The Yin And The Yang
A relative newcomer to the cigar accessories world, Haso Design looks to make a high-minded statement with its Taiji Cutter. It was inspired by the Taiji philosophy of universal harmony through the union of two cosmological aspects—the passive (yin) and the active (yang)—hence the cutter’s swirling yin-yang shape.
Operation is straightforward. A slip-resistant activation button snaps open the 4130 stainless steel blades via a simple, synchronized, slide-guided system, rather than a complex, gear-driven mechanism. According to Haso, this ensures smoother action and reduces the risk of jamming. With its aluminum die-cast body, the cutter weighs just under 3 1/2 ounces and can accommodate cigars up to 60 ring gauge.
The Haso Taiji cutter, which retails for $100, comes in five colors and is distributed by Arango Cigar Co. out of Northbrook, Illinois.
