Club Macanudo Makes Its Way To Margaritaville
When it comes to Louisiana, the first city that normally comes to mind is New Orleans, but a new cigar bar may have you thinking further north. The Bayou State’s lesser-known Bossier City is home to the newest Club Macanudo, located at the Margaritaville Resort and Casino. It’s the second Club Macanudo in the United States and although it opened in November, the grand opening event is being held tomorrow.
Compared to the posh and dressy Club Macanudo in New York City, this new location is more laid-back and casual, espousing the relaxed, tropical mood that singer songwriter Jimmy Buffett not only captured in his famous song “Margaritaville,” but seemed to personify. According to Macanudo brand owner Scandinavian Tobacco Group, the airy décor “infuses elements of a sophisticated cigar lounge with coastal allure, evoking earth tones and a spa palate to create a haven of indulgence and leisure.”
The indoor space is 1,500 square feet, with a 600-square-foot outdoor patio for al fresco puffing offering views of the resort property and the city beyond.
In addition to a fully-stocked bar, Club Macanudo features a glass-enclosed humidor stocked with cigar brands from Scandinavian’s portfolio: Cohiba, Punch, Partagas, CAO, La Gloria Cubana and, of course, Macanudo.
This Club Macanudo was developed in partnership with Margaritaville Resort and Casino and Southern Smoke Cigar Co., which owns and operates cigar shops and lounges in and around the Shreveport area. Don’t let the word “club” scare you. This Club Macanudo, just like the one in New York, is open to the public.
