Arturo Fuente has a new Cameroon tobacco supplier, and the company is poised to release a video today showing that it will have plenty of Cameroon wrapper supply for years to come. The shipment—the first of many—was just delivered to the company’s cigar factory in the Dominican Republic from Universal Leaf Tobacco Co., one of the world’s largest tobacco growers. 

This follows Fuente’s recent breakup with its former Cameroon tobacco supplier, M. Meerapfel Söhn. 

The video shows that first shipment of Cameroon tobacco, and includes a personal message from company leader Carlos Fuente Jr. to his customers. You can view the video below.

“There’s things that as an old-school cigarmaker I don’t speak about,” said Fuente Jr. in the video. “But there have been rumors that we didn’t have tobacco, are short of tobacco. Let me just say something my dear friends. I just came back from the Big Smoke in Las Vegas. I had the blessing to hug thousands and thousands of people. But the greatest blessing was I received the hugs and the love from each one of them. And there’s a big concern from rumors that have been spread about us not receiving Cameroon and us not having Cameroon available for your favorite cigars. Early this week, we received an entire 40-foot container, refrigerated container of African Cameroon wrapper. My friends we have African Cameroon wrapper for years to come.”

Fuente makes tens of millions of cigars by hand every year, many of them wrapped in Cameroon. It has long held years of tobacco in reserve to ensure its long-term planning.

“I would never let my customers down,” Carlos Fuente Jr. told Cigar Aficionado in a one-on-one conversation. “All I want people to know is they’re going to have their Fuente Don Carlos and their Fuente Hemingways for many years.”
