Cuba’s been in the headlines recently, perhaps for all the wrong reasons—oil shortages, widespread blackouts, threats by the Trump administration to take over the country. Even the Habanos Festival was postponed. But amidst the turmoil and sensational headlines, Habanos S.A., Cuba’s worldwide cigar distributor, has been able to stagger new releases into the global market. When it comes to Cuban cigars, brand launches are a slow and fragmented process. Unlike in the United States, where new cigar products are launched in a single push, Habanos tends to release its products one market at a time.
